MUSE Inspire 2023 Recap

We experienced great energy at the MUSE Inspire 2023 conference from attendees and vendors excited to learn from each other and MEDITECH. There was also strong attendance from hospital IT leaders.

Some of our key takeaways from the conference were:

  • 70% of new implementations are MaaS, confirming that health systems are embracing this additional model of Expanse.

  • MEDITECH is joining the KLAS Arch Collaborative to expand their partnership with KLAS to benefit client sites.

  • MUSE Leadership Summit discussions focused heavily on the challenge of recruiting and retaining the necessary resources, including clinicians, nurses and IT leaders which MEDITECH highlighted in a recent white paper. Resourcing is one of the top challenges facing all health care organizations at this time.

Important Development / Product Updates from the keynote presented by Michelle O'Connor, Cathy Turner and Rachel Wilkes covered:

  • Expanse Care Compass - Provides improved care manager workflows, improving follow up and preventing readmission.

  • Digitally enabled care - hospital at home, remote monitoring and virtual care.

  • Patient Connect - Cloud based, real-time patient engagement capabilities.

  • Genomics - End-to-end precision medicine solution which gives providers access to patients’ genetic data and the clinical decision support tools they need to apply it.

  • Mobile apps

    • Expanse Now - Presents clinical information in an intuitive, easy-to-read format with instantaneous updates and coordination across the care team.

    • Expanse Transport - Expanse Transport enables users to transport patients and equipment within your healthcare organization.

We also found Hoda Sayed-Friel’s pre-MUSE interview on the MUSE Views podcast to be very insightful. Hoda shared more detail on changes related to MEDITECH Professional Services.
